Target Audience and Goal Statement
This activity is intended for healthcare professionals in the field of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, dermatologists, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants.
The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to recommend skin care regimens that take into account cellular factors that contribute to aging of the skin and ingredients in cosmeceuticals that target the epidermal cell turnover cycle and combat oxidative stress.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will:
Have increased knowledge regarding the
- Factors that contribute to the aging of the skin
- Mechanisms of action of cosmeceuticals targeting the cell cycle
Have greater competence related to
- Recommending appropriate skincare regimens for patients that encompass multiple aspects of the oxidative stress cascade
